Using Proton Meet with MuteDeck

MuteDeck v4.13 supports Proton Meet through browser extension 7.2.0 or later.

Set Up Proton Meet

  1. Update the MuteDeck desktop app to v4.13 or later.
  2. Install or update the browser extension to version 7.2.0 or later.
  3. In MuteDeck, open Settings → Application Sync and check that Enable Browser Extension is on.
  4. When MuteDeck asks Allow this plugin?, click Allow for the browser extension.
  5. Refresh any Proton Meet tabs that were open before updating the extension, then join a meeting.

MuteDeck displays the Proton Meet icon when it detects the call. If you have Settings → General → Track meeting time enabled, Proton Meet calls also appear in your meeting statistics.

Supported Controls

You can mute or unmute, toggle your camera, control screen sharing and recording, send reactions, and leave the meeting.

Recording requires a paid Proton plan. On Proton Meet Free, MuteDeck shows a notice instead of starting a recording.

If Proton Meet Is Not Detected

  • Check the extension version; earlier versions do not support Proton Meet.
  • Confirm that the extension has permission to run on the Proton Meet page, then refresh the tab.
  • Look for an approval prompt in MuteDeck and check Settings → Plugins & API for the browser extension's connection status.
  • Follow the browser connection troubleshooting guide if the extension is disconnected.
