# Control Discord voice channels with MuteDeck (plus other updates in v3.0)
MuteDeck 3.0 is here! And this time, it's bringing something many of you have been asking for: Discord support.
If you use a Stream Deck, Loupedeck, Touch Portal, or any other device that MuteDeck works with—you can now control your Discord voice channel status just like you already do for Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Webex.
# What Discord actions does MuteDeck support?
MuteDeck lets you trigger these Discord voice actions:
- Mute/unmute your microphone
- Toggle your camera
- Start/stop screen sharing
- Leave the voice channel
You'll also see your current Discord voice status reflected on your device's buttons, just like with other meeting apps.
# Quick heads-up: Discord setup is a little different (for now)
Discord doesn't allow small third-party apps to use their APIs for this type of control, so you'll need to create a personal Discord app as part of the setup. This only takes a few minutes and doesn't require any coding skills.
I've published a full step-by-step Discord setup guide (opens new window) to walk you through the process. Once it's done, MuteDeck will securely connect to your Discord account and start controlling your voice channel actions.
I hope to make this setup process simpler in the future. But for now, this is the safest and Discord-compliant way to make the magic happen.
# Other improvements in MuteDeck v3.0
While Discord is the big new feature, this update also includes a few fixes and quality-of-life improvements:
- Zoom 6.5+ support (Windows): Fixed an issue where mute status could get out of sync with Zoom. MuteDeck now handles this more reliably on the latest Zoom versions.
- Windows update check fix: Some Windows users saw a UAC prompt during MuteDeck's background update checks. This has been resolved.
- Teams connection status: Added a small status label in Settings, so you can quickly see if MuteDeck is currently connected to Microsoft Teams.
- General performance improvements: several backend tweaks to make MuteDeck run a little faster and smoother.
# How to get the update
If you're already using MuteDeck, you'll get the v3.0 update automatically (unless you've disabled auto-updates).
New here? Download MuteDeck for free (opens new window) and give it a try.
As always, thanks for supporting MuteDeck! If you have feedback or run into any issues with Discord, drop us a message (opens new window) — I'd love to hear from you.
