# Introducing MuteDeck v2.8: Hotkeys, New Settings, and Loupedeck Plugin
It's been a while, but I'm excited to announce the release of MuteDeck v2.8, packed with a highly requested feature and improvements to help you manage your meetings more seamlessly than ever. Let's dive into what's new in this update!
# Hotkeys: Control MuteDeck with Keyboard Shortcuts
One of the most requested features is finally here—Hotkeys! Now, you can set up a keyboard shortcut for each of MuteDeck's built-in actions, including muting, video control, screen sharing, recording, and even leaving a meeting.
Hotkeys provide an easy, lightning-fast way to control your meeting settings without needing to reach for external devices like your Stream Deck, Loupedeck, or other control panels. Just press a key and you're instantly muted or back on screen.
If you prefer to use keyboard macro keys or any other device that can send shortcuts, this feature has you covered. Now, your meeting controls are just one keystroke away, making your workflow smoother and more efficient.

# A Fresh Look for Settings
In this release, I've reimagined how settings are presented. Instead of being tucked away in a slide-out section, the settings now have their own dedicated window, organized with tabs to group related options.
Whether you're setting up hotkeys, tweaking integrations, or adjusting audio and video settings, this new layout makes everything easier to find and adjust without feeling overwhelmed. It's all about streamlining your experience so you can focus on what matters most—your meetings.
# MuteDeck Loupedeck Plugin v6.1.1
People with Loupedecks might've noticed a major update in the Loupedeck software. Their version 6.0 was a major overhaul and surprised developers (inc. me) by not being backwards compatible with existing plugins.
I'm happy to report the MuteDeck plugin is updated to support Loupedeck v6! It's currently waiting on Loupedeck to make it available in their Marketplace, but I didn't want to wait with sharing it with you.

2024-10-20 Updated to v6.1.1 to fix a few issues: the Teams-only icons, and in certain situations the meeting status wasn't properly displayed in the buttons.
Important note: The new plugin is only compatible with v6 of the Loupedeck software. If you're still using Loupedeck v5.9.1 or earlier, please don't upgrade to this version, as it won't work with older software. Be sure to update your Loupedeck to v6 before installing the plugin.
# Additional Enhancements and Integrations
Beyond hotkeys and the new settings window, here are a few other improvements in v2.8:
- Improved Status API: I've ensured the status API always returns the call field, even when no call is active. In such cases, it will be set to "inactive" to maintain consistency.
- Stream (opens new window) Integration: I've added support for Stream, a white-label video streaming service. This integration uses a custom browser extension, and I've included recognition of the Stream logo in this release. You can find more details here (opens new window).
